Community Hub - Wellness Channel Event
We recognize that marginalized artists face many barriers in their art careers that have a deep effect on their physical and mental wellbeing. We also recognize that many artists have shown resilience in their practice through acts of resistance in an art system that continues to underserve them. We want to celebrate the powerful strategies utilized by exemplary artists to live and work authentically and fully in their art practice.
We are so excited to be launching our new programming: The Megaphone Series! This series is seeking to amplify diverse voices in our community and we hope to learn from artists that have made space for themselves in a system that is often not very equitable.
This series is funded in part by our health and dental provider StudentVIP. If you have any questions about our programming or community events please reach out to Jamie Russett, the VPSL (email: studentlife.sa@auarts.ca) - we would also like to recognize the efforts of Rocio Graham our peer residency co-ordinator (@rociograham) who dedicated her time and energy in to making this programming a reality. See you all on Tuesday evening!
