Post Content: The COVID-19 pandemic has emphasized the financial disparity that is present in Alberta, especially for women. It has also resulted in women having to suffer from the “Shadow Pandemic”, resulting in an increased rate of domestic violence, and as such, it is more important than ever to support women in need. We are currently partnered with the Women’s Centre of Calgary, a registered charity that works to help women, through provision of necessities (i.e. food and toiletries), legal and financial support, referrals to external programs to help with needs such as housing, as well as other resources.

We, at the Golden Z Club of Calgary. are hosting Alberta’s first LUNAFEST, on April 9th, 2022. This is a film festival showing short films made by, and about women and non-binary individuals. We hope that this event provides people in Alberta with an opportunity to view films specifically made by women, and to be able to spotlight different perspectives.

Additionally, **all of the net proceeds from our event will be going to support the Women’s Centre of Calgary.**

We were wondering, as this is the **first LUNAFEST in Alberta**, if you’d be interested in attending! We are offering virtual screenings, and it is possible to do viewing parties as well (i.e. multiple people viewing one screen).
