Post Content: As an experienced Visual Arts Instructor, you will teach a variety of visual arts (clay, drawing, painting, ceramics, cartooning, two-and-three-dimensional media) courses for preschoolers, children and families. Under supervision, you will be responsible for the leading, planning and instruction in visual arts programs requiring the development of skill base and knowledge in the activity/discipline. Primary duties include:
•Teach specific skills to participants through progressive development and sharing of knowledge.
•Develop course outlines, lesson plans, and resources based on named learning goals and outcomes.
•Provide encouragement and coaching of other instructors (when assigned) and provide recommendations on enhancing performance and program delivery.
•Ensure safety of participants.
•Prepare and maintain equipment, supplies, and program space.
•Maintain program records and assist with program evaluation.
•Maintain a high degree of customer service.
•Level 2 Instructor's will also provide encouragement and coaching to other instructors.
Qualifications
•Minimum 18 years of age.
•Must be willing to work with children
Level 1 Instructors must have the following qualifications:
At least 1 year of instructional experience in visual arts is required.
Post-secondary education in Visual Arts, Fine Arts, or a related field and/or a recognized teaching certification in Visual Arts, Fine Arts, or a related field is required.
Level 2 Instructors must have the following qualifications:
An advanced post-secondary education in Visual Arts, Fine Arts, or a related field and/or a recognized advanced teaching certification in Visual Arts, Fine Arts, or a related field is required.
At least 3 years of instructional experience in visual arts is required.
An extensive personal base of resource material in the field is essential.
Recognition as an "authority" in your field by an institution, peers and/or public.
Ability to develop a curriculum-based program.
Strong communication skills along with demonstrated initiative, planning, and organizational skills.
Sound judgment in safety standards and well-developed customer service skills.
Practicing artist with portfolio will be required to bring sample artworks.
Pre-employment Requirements
Current Intermediate First Aid certification (equivalent to Standard First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) level "C", and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is required.
A valid Security Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Search must be provided. Date of completion must be within the last 12 months.
Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.

Instructor Level 1 $ 22.40 - 32.59 per hour
Instructor Level 2 $ 30.55 - 40.74 per hour
