Post Content: Alberta University of the Arts, Continuing Education department is seeking two student artists to design and create a one-of-a-kind art piece to be raffled off at the Calgary Comic Expo to showcase our incredible student talent!
One idea we are excited about is a custom-designed backpack, whether through material modifications or other customizations. We are open to other creative proposals in fibre, ceramics, jewellery, glassblowing or other craft media. The proposed project should be comic expo related or applicable to a similar audience.
Selected artists will receive a $500 honorarium for their work, and supply costs will be covered by the University.
Calgary Comic Expo takes place from April 24 – April 27th, 2025 and the finished piece must be submitted to the Continuing Education department by Tuesday, April 22, 2025 during office hours.
How to Apply:
Please submit the following:
- three to five images or examples or previous work.
- A brief proposal outlining your idea for the art piece and related costs to create it
- Full Name, Student number, degree program
- Contact information
Please submit your application to the Continuing Education Department at coned@auarts.ca .
While we will review all applications, only those selected to create the art piece will be contacted.
