Post Content: Routine Natural Beauty @routinecream is hiring a Graphic Designer with a penchant for packaging to join our creative team.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a flow state, getting into a design reverie, and is already a fan of the Routine brand and products. This person will enjoy dreaming up creative ideas in a collaborate group setting, can toggle multiple priorities on the fly, and will elevate the brand while still respecting its roots and nuance.
Must be available to work in person out of the Calgary office because no, Zoom meetings aren’t fun!

Key Responsibilities
Design and Creative
Product Design; manage packaging design process from start to finish - from dieline sample requests, artwork production, proof approvals, to print.
Design of Printed Assets; develop printed materials such as wholesale catalogues, merchandising guides, postcards, stickers, assets for events and retailers, as well as digital creations such as brand decks.
Design of Internal Assets: develop online and printed training materials, employee handbook documents, and various internal communication materials.,
Image Editing; edit whitebox shots and other imagery for the web, print and as per retailer requests.
Ad Creation; create ad designs for social media, print and billboards.
Photoshoots; participate in photoshoots ensuring optimal product placement and composition for marketing materials.
Web Design; Update website content and images regularly to maintain freshness and relevance, edit and update product website listings as needed, assist on improving website browsing experience. We use the Shopify platform (WYSIYWG - user friendly process), and have access to advanced third party programmers as needed. Training can be provided if needed.
Newsletters; plan, design, and schedule newsletters on a monthly basis using our email platform.
Communication and Coordination
Maintain clear internal communication with all company teams regarding design changes, coordinating internally regarding asset management and production needs.
Maintain clear communication with suppliers, manufacturers and printers for sample approvals and production changes, and coordinate monthly packaging purchase order requirements with internal teams and suppliers.
Communicate and coordinate ad placements, and billboard rotation scheduling.
Administrative Tasks
Ensuring internal master documents and dropbox folders for website and product listings are kept accurate.
Publishing and updating product catalogues on “ISSUU” for direct and wholesale customers.
Review and proofread designs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to Routine’s brand.

Must-have qualifications
Strong Ability to Work within a Creative Team Environment: Must be team oriented and flexible, and willing to work collaboratively within Routine’s marketing team.
Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and effectively under pressure, ensuring deadlines are met and priorities are well-balanced. Ensure timely updates to printed and digital assets based on seasonal and product changes. Must be able and open to implementing changes to designs based on collaborative feedback.
Strong Portfolio & Proficiency in Design Software: Must be able to showcase a range of design skills and creativity. Competence in using graphic software (Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
Excellent Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Proficiency in conveying ideas clearly and effectively, both internally with team members and externally with suppliers, retailers, and collaborators to ensure design initiatives align with overarching marketing strategies. Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships. Ability to use critical feedback to improve your work, skills and habits (must be okay with lots of edits because that’s how we get a great result).
Passion for Great Design: Genuine enthusiasm for creativity and innovation, with a natural sensitivity to trends while also ensuring consistency and adherence to Routine’s brand across all design projects.
Autonomy and Initiative: Highly self-motivated and self-directed with capacity to work independently and take ownership of tasks, demonstrating a proactive approach to planning and decision-making. Sense of pride in your performance. Ability and willingness to fully take projects from conception to completion.
Desired Qualifications
Professional experience in graphic design, print production, visual communications, multimedia design, or a related role.
A full understanding of the production/print process from start to finish
Understand/willingness to learn Shopify backend
Photography skills or an eye for photography

Schedule: Monday - Friday, Full Time Hours
We require a minimum of Monday, Wednesday & Thursday working at Routine HQ, remaining days of the week to be discussed. This is a full time position.
Location: 4539 6 St NE, Calgary AB, T2E3Z6.
Must also be able to travel within North America 3-4 times per year.
