Post Content: Metawe is an independent game company located in Calgary, Alberta. Our name ‘Metawe’ is derived from Cree, Pe metawe ᐯ ᒣᑕᐁᐧ VC, meaning to "Come an Play". Our mission is to create imaginative worlds and embrace our roots as storytellers to create an immersive video game role playing experience.
The Opportunity
We have designed casual mobile games in the past and have identified the need to shift our brand to better represent ourselves and our upcoming role playing games. As proud members of the Alberta Métis Nation, we would like our brand to embrace our Indigenous heritage and reflect a culture of storytelling, imagination, and games.
That’s where you come in. We are looking for First Nations, Inuit, or Métis artists to design a logo that reflects our owners and our heritage.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our team to create a logo that reflects our Metawe brand which will be published on our website, social media accounts, and as an introduction and watermark on all of our games.
- Research video game company logos to understand the look and feel of the industry.
- Create several mock-ups and designs in alignment with our brand vision.
- Help with minor revisions on the concept, incorporating feedback.
- Design multiple logo variations (i.e. vertical, horizontal, full colour, black and white).
- Provide guidance on the right brand colours to use with our logo to create a unique feel.
- Work with us to find the right typeface for Metawe that aligns with our logo and brand colours that you helped us create.
Additional Information
We understand that you probably have your own art practice, not to mention your own life as a student, so we are flexible with what hours of the day you work on this project. At the end of the day, our goal is to have a logo that we can all be proud of.
