POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Design and Marketing Specialist, the Design and Marketing Assistant is a key member of the marketing and communications team. This role provides design, production, coordination, and publishing assistance to support various SU departments and services. The successful candidate will create marketing materials for both print and digital platforms, ensuring consistency with SU branding while engaging student audiences.
SALARY
This is a full-time summer contract position from May to the end of August, with a wage of $17/hour. As a not-for-profit organization, it is extremely unlikely that we will be able to offer a successful candidate a salary outside of this range.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•
Design and produce marketing materials for print and digital distribution.
•
Prepare and format files for print production.
•
Create and edit digital content for social media, web, and digital bulletin boards.
•
Assist in the creation and execution of social media campaigns.
•
Organize and maintain shared files and the SU’s photo library.
•
Ensure consistency with SU’s branding and graphic standards across all projects.
•
Research and develop creative, engaging content ideas.
•
Provide general marketing and administrative support as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
•
Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
•
Knowledge of design principles, typography, and print production.
•
Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok) and digital content creation.
•
Strong organization and time management skills.
•
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
•
Ability to proofread and edit written content.
•
Photography and video production skills (an asset).
