Show + Sale Cashiers

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Alberta University of the Arts Students’ Association, Show + Sale Coordinator, and with support of other AUArtsSA Staff, the Show + Sale cashier is responsible for providing retail sales support for the Show + Sale retail market.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Processing

• Processing cash and credit payments

• Balancing the register at end of shift

• Assisting in the reconciliation of Show + Sale retail projects

• Providing prompt, accurate and professional service to all Show + Sale customers

Customer Service

• Greeting customers

• Meeting customers’ transactional needs, answering general inquiries and directing additional sales opportunities to the Show + Sale Coordinator

• Provide regular updates to the Show + Sale Coordinator and Program Manager as needed
  

QUALIFICATIONS

• A mature attitude with the ability to work independently and be a responsive member of the AUArts SA team

• Organized and detail oriented

• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills

• Courteous, empathetic and skillful at conveying information and ideas concisely, and correcting issues promptly and professionally

• Experience working in a similar role and/or with Shopify point of sale system (POS) is considered an asset

• Preference will be given to current students and recent graduates of AUArts

• Must be available for the full duration of the event including the evening of November 25, and during the weekend of November 26 and 27

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

This is a casual contract position with a schedule of up to approximately 25-30 hours varied over the term of the contract with an hourly rate of $15 per hour. The position will commence November 14th, 2022 and continues until November 27th, 2022. The cashiers must be available for orientation and training prior to the sale for a minimum of 4 hours between 10am-5pm Monday-Friday.
