We are reaching out to inform you about an opportunity for students to participate in a public survey on the short-term rental (STR) market. This opportunity is part of an in-depth Short-Term Rental Study that is being conducted by researchers at the University of Calgary in partnership with The City of Calgary.
About the Research
The Short-Term Rental Study is a multi-year research initiative, the overarching goals of which are to build a comprehensive understanding of Calgary’s STR market and the challenges and opportunities it presents, and to use this knowledge to recommend an updated regulatory approach for STRs in Calgary.
How You Can Get Involved
Since understanding the perspectives and experiences of Calgarians is an important component of the Short-Term Rental Study, the study team has planned two phases of public engagement. The first phase of engagement—which students can participate in now by completing an online survey—will be open until December 31, 2023. The survey is designed to help us understand public attitudes about and experiences with STRs, and to identify issues, benefits and opportunities.
Why Your Participation Matters
Your input will help uncover issues and opportunities related to STRs. It will also be used to inform recommendations for STR regulations that affect students. The study aims to address concerns from the public and interested parties, including students at AUArts.
