The Lead Motion Graphics Designer will be one of the driving forces behind the Oilers Entertainment Groupโs motion graphics projects and creative campaigns. You will be part of a team that has won multiple awards, including the Golden Matrix Award for Best Overall Video Content in all pro sports. You will be equipped with a plethora of resources in one of the most technologically advanced buildings in the world. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create engaging and industry-leading Motion Graphics for the Edmonton Oilers, Rogers Place, Ice District, OEG, Oil Kings and other brands
- Be a key creative force behind trailblazing player headshots, sponsor animations, 3D logos, etc.
- Conceptualize, design and transform briefs and concepts into highly effective motion graphic animations.
- Be an active participant in creative planning and brainstorming sessions
- Work collaboratively with Game Presentation, Digital Media, Marketing and other departments under the direction of the Director, Creative.
- Work with other Designers and Video Editors to create and maintain the motion graphics look and feel
- Continually engage in self-directed research and exploration of Motion Graphics techniques, ideas and executions across all industries (sports, entertainment, cinema, music, etc.).
- Mentor Coordinator, In Game Video Production and Motion Graphics
- Stay on top of new trends and ideas in this field, and be able to research and recommend software/hardware technology needed to design, develop and assemble the next generation of motion-GFX and animations
- Other duties as assigned
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- 3-5 years of experience with motion graphics in a professional work environment; experience in sports and entertainment is a plus
- Post-secondary education in motion design, video production, animation, or related major
- Expert knowledge of After effects
- Experience with Cinema 4D and Octane renderer a strong asset but not a requirement
- Ability to work beyond normal business hours, including but not limited to nights, weekends and select holidays is required
- Applicants must submit a demo reel demonstrating experience
- Successful applicants must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
