Post Content: Our new North Haven Shelter in Edmonton is now OPEN. We are seeking compassionate individuals to care for the animals being housed temporarily at North Haven. 

Minimum 2 shifts a month, 
Minimum one-year commitment 
Flexible Schedule 

Position Summary: 
In collaboration with the other volunteers on shift, ensure all dogs being housed in the shelter are walked, fed, medicated as needed and have a sanitary living space. This includes other shelter duties such as washing dishes, doing laundry and cleaning crates. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 
Attend all required training sessions and orientations 
Maintain the dogs living space by ensuring it is clean, including washing kennels and replacing bedding and dishes 
Walk and feed dogs in shelter according to their specific needs and as outlined on their care boards 
Washing all dishes and toys being used in the shelter 
Ensure all dog laundry is being done 
Spend time with the dogs where time and protocols permit 
Follow disinfecting and quarantine protocols 

There are three shift times per day, 7 days a week. While the shift start times are not flexible, volunteers have the ability to make their own schedule and are not required to stick to the same day/time each week.
