A Year in Review: A Zine-Making Workshop by the Pandemic Relief Zine Club

SA Community Hub event.

We are coming up on the one-year mark of going into lockdown and having our worlds altered by the Pandemic! We invite you to reminisce with us on the good (and bad!) times you may have encountered in our next Community Hub event: a Zine-making workshop hosted by the Pandemic Relief Zine club!

How to participate:

Collect 5 images of your experience throughout this first year of the pandemic and join us on March 10th at 7 pm in the Community Hub general channel. With the help of Andrea Engele, Megan Hamilton and Jennifer Danvers, we will be working through the basics of putting together a digital collage! We will touch on using text in digital work, editing images for collage work and give tips and tricks on how you can begin to experiment with your zines!

All the finished pieces will be able to be submitted afterward to the Pandemic Relief Zine publication “The Pandemic: A Year in Review”. The final publication will be printed and available to those who have submitted work, with one copy being donated to the Luke Lindoe Library as documentation of our collective experience this year. We can't wait to see you all on Wednesday night!

International Students Meeting

SA Community Hub event.

Missed our last international students meeting? No worries! We are holding these sessions biweekly and you will have a chance to bring all your questions and concerns in every one of them. In every meeting, I, your International Student Representative, will provide progress from our last ones and any news related to our community.

During this session, I will be listening to any concerns regarding support you feel is necessary to enhance your student experience. We will discuss on inviting faculty members, international alumni or upper-year international students to future sessions, workshops or Q&As. I want to support you to best of my abilities and I am very excited to meet you!
