Post Content: Esker Foundation is a contemporary art gallery located in Calgary's Inglewood neighbourhood. As a leader in the Calgary arts community, Esker connects the public to contemporary art through relevant, accessible, and educational exhibitions, programs, and publications. We are looking for curious, reliable and personable individuals to join our volunteer family for weekend Gallery Docent shifts.
Gallery Docents are an integral volunteer position at the Esker Foundation. They are the first to greet the public at the gallery and set the tone for their visit. Docents provide information about the gallery, the current exhibitions, artists, and public programs, and address the visiting public’s general questions.
Docents are primarily scheduled for one hour or two hour shifts in the afternoons on Saturdays and Sundays. Some weekday shifts are occasionally available.
Esker Foundation provides a mandatory volunteer orientation session, which provides information on the foundation, policies and procedures, and the current exhibitions.
