The Community Arts Coordinator is a leading member of the Community Arts team for successful performing arts events and program execution in diverse locations in Calgary, including public facilities and neighbourhood parks. The Community Arts Coordinator will coordinate and oversee community-driven initiatives, and organize and facilitate community art programming that is inclusive, accessible and engaging for all ages and abilities. The Community Arts Coordinator recruits, trains and supervises event staff, artists and volunteers, manages contracts and collaborates with artists, arts organizations, universities and other city departments. Programs may include dance, music, theatre, mixed media and diverse cultural forms and practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience:
- Requires experience in the organization, coordination and implementation of art programs, cultural arts or visual arts programs.
- Requires knowledge in WordPress and web design. Programming will be an asset but not mandatory.

QUALIFYING SKILLS
- Highly organized, self-motivated team player, excited to play a critical role in a small team
and contribute to meaningful, mission-driven work
- Effective oral and written communication skills, demonstrating diplomacy and accuracy
- Ability to professionally write emails, letters, and other documents
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Google G-Suite
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, take appropriate initiative,
and work independently
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus but not mandatory


Salary: $17.00/hr - 35 hours per week (Project Lenght: 280 hrs)
