Position Profile

The Services Assistant is responsible for overseeing various aspects of AUArts services.

The Details

This is a paid hourly contract position (August 20th - June 20th) that requires approximately 10-12 hours per week at a rate of $17 per hour. This role is hybrid and requires in-person work to occur between M-T 11am-4pm, and may include occasional weekends.

We will accept all applications, however preference will be given to applicants who are current students or recent alumni of AUArts.

·         To oversee operations of various SA and spaces between September – June in collaboration with the Services Coordinator.

General Duties

·         AUArts SA Website

o   Prepare weekly submissions to Classifieds webpage

·         Pantry

o   Clean, organize, and stock pantry weekly ensuring space adheres to SA’s Pantry guidelines

o   Track stock and organize weekly donations

o   Respond to inquiries regarding pantry

·         Bar Services

o   Oversee bar staff

§  Input received bar bookings into staff schedule via Square Teams

§  Act as first point of contact for bar staff and AUArts facility and security during events

§  Provide coverage for sick or absent bar staff

o   Admin

§  Update bar income and bartender wages on SA spreadsheet weekly

o   Other

§  Prepare floats as needed for bar bookings

·         Nest

o   Clean and organize space weekly

·         Front Desk

o   Provide front desk support at AUArts SA

§  Answer student and visitor inquiries in-person and via phone

§  Tidy office space as needed

Qualifications:  

·         Interest or experience in non-profit galleries, artist-run-centers, curation, and contemporary art 

·         Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of individuals

·         Experience working both within a team and independently. Prior experience managing a team considered an asset.

·         Knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word 

·         Prior experience with Square and/or Squarespace considered an asset.
