Post Content: The Alberta University of the Arts (AUArts) is looking for a creative and organized Casual Exhibitions Assistant to provide support to gallery operations and exhibition programming.

The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Academic Resources and accountable to the Curator, Exhibitions and Programs Coordinator, and Educational Art Technician – Exhibitions Preparator (IKG), the Exhibitions Assistant provides support to gallery operations including exhibitions and events.

Key Responsibilities:
Supports exhibitions and events including receptions, artist talks and other programming.
Supports development of print and digital communications materials.
Assists with archive and collection related projects.

The successful candidate will have:
Minimum BFA or BDes from an accredited institution. Must have graduated within the past three years.
Demonstrated interest in contemporary art, art history, public programming, and outreach activities.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent problem solving, organization, and planning skills with a strong attention to detail.
Basic knowledge of craft, fine art and design studio practice and/or gallery preparatory skills.

Compensation:
This position pays an hourly rate of $20.00 plus 6% pay in lieu of vacation. As this position is casual in nature, there will be no guarantee of hours or a regular schedule.
