Post Content: Look around. How many jobs are there where you can use art to do good? (Cue the Jeopardy music.) Not many – unless you count Banksy, and we don’t think he’s hiring. That’s why Prospect’s innovative Skills for Success program is such a rare opportunity. It is one of the few places where artists can use their passion and talent to benefit society. Sound idealistic? It’s for real. And we’re looking for an Art Facilitator to work with our clients, helping them engage with the community and employment opportunities.

What will you do?

• Plan and develop virtual / in-person art-based workshops to develop essential skills for employment aligning with Prospect’s policies

• Support Skills for Success program with administrative support

• Engage public and other stakeholders

• Actively seek out new partners in the arts and business communities for the purposes of developing new programs/activities, as well as supporting, fostering, and maintaining existing relationships

• Assist with workshops based on resume writing, interview skills, job targeting, time management, nutrition, etc.

• Work directly with Prospect clients, providing support to teach and expand employability skills

• Provide leadership support to clients while they plan and facilitate art collaborations and host public art exhibitions

• Coordinate supplies for all workshops throughout each session

• Participate in ongoing program and art specific risk management, including establishment and monitoring of policies and procedures in these areas

• Maintain open communication with all stakeholders including formal/personal support networks, employers, and external partners

• Support the creation, progression, tracking and completion of goals for clients

• Maintain accurate and timely reports

• Work collaboratively within a team of creative professionals

• Work with clients who are diagnosed with a variety of different mental health barriers and supporting them with connecting to outside resources.

• Develop marketing for public art exhibitions

What does it take to do this job?

• Degree or certificate in related field from a recognized post-secondary institution, such as, but not limited to Art, Social or Human Services

• 2+ years of experience in a similar role, with demonstrated reliability shown in past positions/education

• Some post-secondary education and/or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience will be considered

• Basic skill level in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Photoshop)

• Strong oral communication skills to be able to relay instructions

• Exposure and/or direct experience with health and safety and risk management practices as it relates to activities

• Previous experience working in the field of mental health
