Artist-in-Residence Program

Join a supportive creative community and develop your career as a professional artist at Harbourfront Centre's Craft & Design Studio. If you’re a recent graduate of a craft and design program or an emerging artist with equivalent experience, this unique career incubator might be perfect for you.

Harbourfront Centre’s Artist-in-Residence program is the only post-graduate training program in craft and design supported by Canadian Heritage: Canadian Arts Training Fund. Benefits offered to Artists-in-Residence include dedicated studio space, exhibition opportunities, lectures and seminars, professional mentorship, and more. As we continue to adjust to unique circumstances, Harbourfront Centre is committed to supporting our artists in a safe and healthy environment. Take advantage of our facilities and community to meet your career goals and thrive as a working artist.

Full-time residencies are one-year long and can be renewed for up to three years, with five disciplines to choose from: Design, Glass, Metal/Jewellery, Ceramics and Textiles. Interviews will be held virtually in April and May. We will not be accepting summer residency applications for 2021.
