Trico LivingWell:

Trico LivingWell is a new older adult living community opening in Summer 2022 in Kingsland, Calgary. It is Canada's first Older Adult aging-in-place community pursuing the vigorously vetted WELL v2TM Certification from International WELL Building Institute – a premier framework and performance-based system for buildings with features that advance human health and well-being worldwide. Trico LivingWell offers a campus of care and services to independent living, assisted living, and dementia care accommodations respectful to individual rights, choices, needs, abilities and enjoyment. 

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Wellness Program Lead, Artists will lead lessons and workshops in our custom studio where residents can express their creativity and create one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Using relationship-centred care, our team of professional artists connect with residents, their family, friends and other staff members through the artistic process to develop meaningful relationships. Help build resident’s skill set to realize their endless potential and support new passions for art, art history and the benefits that come with the creative process

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and leads engaging programs utilizing various art mediums with professionalism and patience.

  • Coordinates supplies and preparations with Wellness Program Lead.

  • Facilitates art lessons and workshops in large and small group settings as well as 1:1.

  • Adapts artistic process to fit individual’s holistic needs.

  • Documents and evaluates program using Yardi. Write up incident reports as needed

Qualifications:

  • Art therapy experience with older adults preferred.

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree from a recognized institution in the field of arts, fine arts, art history, film, recreation, therapeutic recreation, or a related field

  • Knowledge of art mediums, supplies, equipment and technology.

  • Good organizational, time management, communication, judgement and decision making skills.

  • First aid certificate is an asset and will be required for the job position.

  • All applicants who receive an offer of employment must be eligible to work in Canada. Proof of eligibility must be current and valid (not expired, cancelled or voided)

  • Trico LivingWell provides care for at-risk client population and we are committed to keeping our residents and staff safe. All employees are required to be vaccinated against both COVID and the influenza variants.
